Okay, confession; I’m a goo-hoarder. If you don’t know what a goo-hoarder is, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1usT9C04Foc and then read on.
I buy new beauty products every single week, sometimes more than that. I’m obsessed with the potions and lotions promising beautiful radiant skin and silky hair. Oh, a new product? I’m swiping my Priceline sister club card and I’m testing it already.
But then recently, I came across a beauty product that doesn’t really fit within the ‘Goo’ label .My newest beauty obsession is…… a pillowcase.
But wait, it’s not just any pillowcase. Coming from Australian owned company Slip, this pillowcase is 100% Mulberry silk; and boy, does it feel nice to lay your head on at night.
Have you ever woken up in the morning, looked in the mirror and found creases on your skin from your pillow case? While frustrating to wait for them to fade, these creases are actually visible damage to your skin. What? Yeah, I know. Cotton pillowcases also draw moisture from your skin and hair, leaving it dry and prone to damage and hair breakage.
Silk pillowcases however, allow your skin and hair to literally ‘slip’ during the night, not grabbing your skin and tangling your hair like cotton does. Silk pillowcases also maintain hairstyles overnight, so if you’ve got hair extensions or just want your style to stay put during the night, your prayers have been answered.
Slip recently was kind enough to send me one of their cases to trial, and I’m never going back. Nothing beats laying down on cool, silk pillow at the end of a long day. I love waking up in the morning and having my hair still silky smooth and free from tangles, and my skin wonderfully crease free. I have also found my cheeks break out a lot less, since the silk allows your skin to breathe and doesn’t trap all that crap against your face with nowhere to go.
One of my favourite beauty gals Zoe Foster-Blake recently described Slip pillowcases as ‘the best beauty product a dame can use.’ So why not? An 8 hour beauty treatment every night sounds pretty good to me.
Slip pillow cases are available in a range of colours with free express shipping to Australia via http://www.slip.com.au/
